Kossacks from all over the country responded to my request to donate to Ann Ridgeway, courageous Democrat running in a bright red — and gorgeous — rural area of Virginia. For those who haven’t heard the news: Ann’s opponent failed to file the necessary forms to be on the ballot and he has vowed to mount a write-in campaign. He could still win — I did say “bright red” — but he’s not on the bloody ballot. And she is. Gotta love those unforced errors! For the full story on this surprising turn of events, go to this excellent article by SemDem.
Ann’s name may be the sole one on the ballot, but she’ll still need help getting her message to voters and making sure they vote on November 5th.
That’s why VA 7th for Progress PAC promised to match up to $250, and so present Ann with a nice $500 check. But guess what? With your help, we blew past that goal in under six hours! You all have so far contributed $470!! We can’t afford to match more than $250, but everything we do collect will go to Ann.
We're leaving the LINK up for a few more days: we’ve got a total of $720 to give her now; let’s see if we can give her a nice round $1000! That’d get her two billboards or a dozen large signs — both much-needed in rural areas for name recognition.
So, you still have the chance to help out Ann Ridgeway, a strong Democrat who’ll fight for better healthcare, better schools, and rural infrastructure.
Thank you so much!
