This morning’s Economist/Yougov Weekly Tracking poll shows Warren and Biden exactly tied at 24% each. Sanders comes in at 17%. Harris is at 6%, Buttigieg gets 5%. No other candidate manages over 2%.
Economist/Yougov poll toplines
Warren has been gaining on Biden in this poll for some time. She was 9% behind in July and kept narrowing the gap methodically. Today is the first time this poll shows an actual tie between Biden and Warren.
Also, encouraging for Warren: She is the candidate who Democrats consider the most, regardless of who they currently support.
Warren is considered for the nomination by 55% of voters expected to vote in the primaries/caucuses. Biden is considered by 48%. Sanders by 40%, Harris by 32%. Buttigieg by 27%.
That suggests that Warren has more room to grow than any of the other candidates.
Also important is that Warren is the most popular candidate with Democrats. 72% of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Warren. 12% have an unfavorable opinion, a net of +60%. Biden is seen favorably by 69% of Democrats and unfavorably by 21%, a net of +47%.
