I know from a previous poll that most of you don’t have Twitter accounts. I’ll put the poll on again just to accompany this story.
I joined Twitter in 2013. I don’t remember what prompted me to do so.
I promote my Daily Kos stories there but I also like to make photoshops (it’s a form of therapy) and I like to see how many people view them. Twitter enables you to see how many people see your tweets and how many people interact with them (i.e., they click on a photo to enlarge it or on a link).
So far 910 people saw my #ImpeachKavanaugh tweet. If you type a Twitter url into a Kos story when you write it, it will appear like this and it is clickable.
If you type just #I into the Twitter search today you went right to #ImpeachKavanaugh. This alone tells you the hashtag is trending.
Of course it would be nearly a miracle if I actually was the first to come up with a hashtag which trended like this. Joe Scarborough called McConnell “Moscow Mitch and it probably was trending on Twitter within a minute. The euphonious sound and the alteration made it the perfect way to describe the despicable Senate majority leader.
If you’re new to this, a hashtag is a term prefaced by # and becomes searchable on Twitter.
Over 700 -people saw my tweet about Trump greed (below) which included a link to one of my Kos stories. 70 people clicked on the link. I made the photoshop before I realized I could write a story to accompany with it.
Below is my record tweet. 1,771 people saw it and 71 clicked just to enlarge it. While I though up the hashtag myself I was by no means the first person to use it. I merely had the idea of a photoshop and went from there.
I had all of 67 Twitter followers when I posted today’s story. Now I have 70. I only know a few of my followers but I appreciate all of them. You don’t have to become my follower to see what I tweet, just click twitter.com/HalMBrown.
In order to post comments on someone’s tweets you need an account. However you can read comments posted by others. If you haven’t already done so, you might find it interesting (and entertaining) to read the replies to Trump’s tweets. For example:
