Several weeks ago, my opponent in my race to represent Virginia’s 33rd District, Delegate Dave LaRock, made a phone call to the Frederick County Board of Supervisors and demanded that they rescind their month-old policy protecting LGBT Virginians from discrimination in the county, or risk legal action.
Unfortunately, the county complied.
Essentially, my opponent went out of his way to make sure that a county could discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.
Even other members of his party are baffled at his behavior, as well as by his stated belief that some discrimination is “good discrimination.”
My opponent clearly refuses to accept that we live in a diverse society. However, he doesn't get to choose who he represents, and for him to fight his private crusade in our name while taking our tax dollars is repugnant, immoral, and inappropriate.
We all matter, we all deserve freedom from discrimination, and we all deserve better than a delegate who refuses to acknowledge these basic facts.
I've had enough of him hurting our communities. This must stop. Let's vote him out and finally end this ugliness.
