[ADMIN NOTE: original title was edited by Admins to reflect fuller context of Sanders’ remarks]
CNN posted this from last night’s Climate Town Hall. Sanders said "If people want to rebuild in an area which will be devastated by the next storm, they're certainly not going to get federal assistance from my administration.’
Sen. Sanders plans on changing FEMA rules to spur a retreat from properties suffering repeated losses. @ClimateTownHall”
Is Sanders aware that there are people earning their living along the coasts? They help feed us and load our goods to sell and unload foreign good for us to consumerize.
For those people to live and do their work there must grocery stores, carpenters, plumbers, nurses, auto dealers etc etc. All of those businesses need buildings, supply lines, electricity, streets and employees.
For a Socialist that a pretty anti social concept.
Cities and towns along the Mississippi and other rivers that carry consumer goods and raw materialist, and food, are also often damaged by repetitive natural forces.
How about clearing the central US which is tornado prone (I fall into that category There was very little FEMA help because all their resources were occupied dealing with other disasters.) And the far northern areas because blizzards and NorEasters. etc.
