Donald John Trump took the Oath of Office on January 20, 2017. Tomorrow marks the end of the third year of his administration. I try to keep an eye open for the mile marker posts of life and being reminded where I was three years ago today. struck me.
I often joke that I don’t remember what happened or who I was before that day. It’s as if my life is defined by the differences that took effect then.
But first, a word from our sponsors ...

I really had no way of knowing where we would find ourselves today from that vantage point. None of us did. I would have to say that I was at least aware that something was going to happen. Something real. Something irrevocable. Something momentous.
I definitely know that if you told me on that day that we would see impeachment after three years I wouldn’t have been surprised. I might have shrugged and figured I could hold out those years and we would move forward after. I might have asked why it takes so long.
But I was definitely betting on the Mango Mussolini being just Reality TV enough to get impeached.
Folks, our president is a gangster. And gangster stories all end the same way. Bizarrely.
This is going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride if this unfolds like a Page Six meets the crime blotter scenario that all of Manhattan hopes it will be. The Post headline writers room has warming up for a long stretch.
Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.

from Denise Oliver Velez:
This comment from countrycat in my diary on the 1619 Project illustrates how the history of enslavement was being mis-taught in Alabama
from your humble diarist:
From the same diary, Saint Baldwin has a family history that will break your heart.
And Nonlinear shared this.
