Let me guess. There are some folks around these Orange parts who do not call themselves big fans of Joe Rogan. I certainly don’t.
Rogan denies being a conservative, calls himself more of an independent libertarian. Whatever. He’s a big NRA guy, which sucks for sure. But crossover appeal in a general election vs. Trump might not be a bad thing.
We’re all familiar with the Bernie Sanders interview on the Joe Rogan Show from a few months ago that got 10 million views. I guess it’s safe to say Bernie made as big an impact on Mr. Rogan as the interview made on YouTube.
Seeing Bernie Sanders’ tweet about this big crossover endorsement today reminded me of something I’ve mentioned on here a few times, most recently here:
I always think of my one IRL libertarian friend. Once Rand Paul was out of the 2016 GOP primary he told me he liked Bernie better than any of the Republicans. He hated Trump. The only candidate he hated more than Trump: Hillary.
He called Bernie the most honest politician he’s seen on the national stage since Ron Paul. That is high praise indeed from a man who To.This.Day. has Ron Paul banners up in his garage/man cave. Quote: “I could tolerate some of his socialist bullshit because at least I know he’s not lying to me.”
Bernie has appeal and authenticity that will bring support out of the woodwork from so many directions. He’ll destroy Trump if he’s the nominee.
Anyway, I’ll take Joe Rogan’s vote (and his influence among his millions of fans) if it helps rid my country of President Donald Trump.
Bernie is very strong with independents we will need in the general election to beat Trump:
Bernie is the most electable candidate in the 2020 Democratic primary and he’s our best chance to throw the orange bum out.
