..or yesterday?
Or the day before?
I haven’t had the chance to see much of the Senate impeachment trial as of yet. Much of the trial has taken place during work hours, so I definitely haven’t had a chance to see much live but a few clips.
I’ve seen a few clips on Twitter. And yes, Adam Schiff’s closings have been riveting, impassionate, and convincing. I’ve seen more of the MSNBC punditry about the trial than anything else.
I do plan to watch significant portions of the trial over the next 36 or so hours as I do have to plan for my Sunday morning post.
I also think that a small factor in my not viewing much of the Senate trial to this date is that I did pay extensive attention to the procedeings in House. The last few days of opening statements by the House impeachment managers seem to be a repitiion of what was said by the actual witnesses during the impeachment hearings in the House Intelligence Committee.
And it seems as if I am not the only one who has not, by and large, watched the impeachment hearings. TV Ratings for the impeachment trial have declined.
TV ratings of the proceedings slipped on Thursday afternoon, marking the second straight day of declines. ABC, NBC and CBS collectively drew about 3.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen data shared by Fox Corp., down more than 20% from the trial’s first day on Tuesday.
Fox News, CNN and MSNBC attracted about 4 million viewers together, a 32% plunge from Tuesday.
Fox News, despite its reputation for a pro-Trump audience, has been drawing the biggest impeachment ratings -- though the network cuts away from the trial during prime time.
It’s difficult to compare the impeachment ratings with those of previous televised events since viewing patterns have radically changed over the years. Many Americans are getting their impeachment updates from social media and the web, where they can stream the proceedings or watch key clips.
In contrast, 71% of Americans said they saw President Richard Nixon’s Watergate hearings live on TV, according to Gallup.
I think there’s a lot of factors into this; for example, when I have watched the impeachment hearings live, I’ve been watching them on a youtube stream...so make of these stats what you will.

In ClimateDenierRoundup's diary "Deniers Double Down On Debunked-For-Decades Myth that ‘CO2 is Plant Food That’s Good For The Planet’"
This long comment by eodell cogently explains why the climate deniers claim about increased CO2 emissions being good for plants is such a bunch of hooey. I'm not a scientist but I could easily follow this.

I nearly fell out of my chair at this comment on Mike Pence getting snubbed by Prince Charles in the handshake line. Nicely done. [Comment is from irishgurl.]
