As has been reported, Trump this morning tweeted a threat to Adam Schiff. www.washingtonpost.com/…
“He has not paid the price, yet, for what he has done to our Country!”
To utter this threat to Lead House counsel in the middle of the impeachment trial is unacceptable. (Not to say that these threatening tweets from Trump to any citizenry are acceptable any time). If Roberts is acting on notes from Senators complaining of the language and demeanor of counsel, as he did the other day with Nadler and Cippilone, he should also admonish Trump’s counsel re their client’s threats in the midst of the proceeding.
I haven’t seen enough outrage about this tweet, which the Wapo described as a “Veiled” Threat. Nothing veiled about it.
Republican senators feigned outrage over Schiff’s comment re media reports on Trump’s “heads on pikes” threats to them. They should all be recognizing now what a danger to the country Trump is. Unfortunately that apparently is not the case, as Senator Langford on CNN this morning downplayed Trump’s threat as “not a death threat”.
Roberts should be called upon to issue an admonishment against Trump’s threats in the midst of the impeachment trial.
