Trump never liked Bolton. That cartoon mustache! And lousy at fawning! He resisted bringing him in as National Security Advisor until he’d blown through Flynn and McMaster and a whole lot other people who might have served in that role.
On 9/9/19, Trump told Bolton he was dissatisfied with his work. Bolton says he told Trump, “I’ll resign if you like,” and that Trump told him, “let’s sleep on it, and talk again in the morning.” Tuesday morning, Trump fired Bolton via tweet. Bolton mostly remained mum, but told the Post, “I will have my say in due course.” And he started writing a book, timed for release during the next presidential campaign, which has suddenly become a key factor in the impeachment of the president.
I am not a fan of scary crazy Bolton, I thought it was horrible when Trump hired him on. But here we are.
Similarly, I have never liked the FBI or CIA; historically I believe they’ve been— perhaps among other things-- an axis of evil. It should creep us out that our big hope for the country is that politicians who go up against those organizations generally lose big.
Again here we are. But where are we going?
