I saw this on LinkedIn. I bet it is on Facebook too. I wouldn’t know, I quit Facebook half a decade ago. I immediately wanted to counter but don’t want my own LinkedIn profile getting tied to anything political. So, you dear reader, get the pleasure of my venting. Here’s a little list of Democrats and/or Progressives with some political renown:
Tammy Duckworth
John Murtha
Max Cleland
John Kerry
Salud Carbajal
Eric Shinseki
James Stavridis
MJ Hagar
Elaine Luria
Anthony Brown
Chrissy Houlahan
Jason Crow
Max Rose
Jared Golden
Conor Lamb
Mikie Sherrill
Gil Cisneros
Sanford Bishop
Richard Blumenthal
GK Butterfield
Tom Carper
Peter DeFazio
Ruben Gallego
Ted Lieu
Seth Moulton
Jimmy Panetta
Edward Markey
Bill Pascrell
Gary Peters
Collin Peterson
Jack Reed
Bobby Rush
Gregorio Sablan
Bobby Scott
Jose Serrano
Mike Thompson
Jimmy Carter
JFK
Harry Truman
George C Marshall Jr.
The original Progressive - Teddy Roosevelt
and yes, Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Buttigieg
I appreciate the sacrifices of the men in the picture. These sacrifices, however, do not entitle them to be in charge. Plenty of Vets disagree with the positions of those pictured and don’t subscribe to that party having ownership of heroism, righteousness, or moral standing. While VoteVets.org recently lost me as a supporter for their endorsement of Pete Buttigieg, their existence shows a substantial bloc of progressive veterans. Were they to easily provide me a down ballot only means, they’d gain it back. Point here is that we don’t accept the propaganda depicted.
