In these turbulent times, what is more needed than a good protest song, particularly, a protest song against the worst president in history? Especially fitting since it’s the blues.
My good friend and blues guitar legend Dave Specter has just released the video for his catchy new tune about Donald Trump, “How Low Can One Man Go?” The song is off of Dave’s new album, “Blues from the Inside Out” (which also happens to be the name of Dave’s outstanding blues podcast).
He’s joined on this gem by another legend, master guitarist Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna fame, Brother John Kattke on piano, Harlan Terson on bass, Marty Binder on drums and Devin Thompson on vocals.
I think you’ll get a kick out of it. Feel free to share it far and wide!
I also want to add a plug for Dave’s terrific podcast, Blues from the Inside Out. Dave interviews and plays with fellow blues legends like New Orleans trumpet giant Kermit Ruffins, Donald Kinsey, Jimmy Johnson, Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmy Vaughan and more. It’s a wonderful podcast that explores the artists and their music with a healthy dollop of the history of the blues and roots music across generations and geographies. Worth a listen!
