America needs a Voters’ Postal Creed and American voters need to swear to it:
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these voters from the swift completion of their duty to lawfully register and, on November 3, 2020 vote against Donald J. Trump for President and against any incumbent GOP member of the U.S. Senate.
Heed the Creed, America. We need to get this done. There will be thousands of candidates running for hundreds of offices on November 3, 2020, but these few offices — the White House and the numerous GOP Senate seats — offer voters a singular opportunity to reclaim and restore the republic.
OK, the Voter Postal Creed is more of a motto. And, I just made it up. But, hey, if Trump has taught America anything, it’s that Stuff You Just Made Up is as real as anything else. Also, I’m biased because I worked quite a while for the U.S. Postal Service and draw a retirement pension for it. The Eagle shits tomorrow, too. Woo! Woo!
Still, no matter all of that, it would be really good for all of us, if every American voter, sometime between now and Election Day, decides that crawling over broken glass would be worth it to vote out Trump and his GOP Senate enablers.
Sadly, these aren’t entirely frivolous metaphors. Barriers to voter registration and voting, in far too many parts of the country, will undoubtedly make voting much more difficult in 2020, than it ought to be for millions of Americans. In some cases, inadequate provision for polling places and environmental factors could grievously elongate voting lines, costing such voters copious, precious hours under adverse physical conditions, just to cast their ballot. Many of those voters, who may persevere, will reach the end of their voter line, only to have their vote obliviated. Some may feel that all of that means we should not even try. But, instead, we must energize every sentient American, to rise up in righteous indignation, and, whether or not consciously so, we must insure that they follow the Voters’ Postal Creed and work to see that others do so.
We are unstoppable, so long as we never stop. Heed the Creed. Vote. Vote Justly. No. Matter. What!
PS
No crap is allowed or will be accepted that Romney and Collins earned a bye with their empty gestures of voting for witnesses. Neither of them asserted any leadership whatsoever on their votes, and a knowingly meaningless vote earns no political capital for these Republicans who are every bit as spineless as their GOP colleagues. Anyway, Romey isn’t even up in 2020.
