Social media has spewed forth a profusion of reactions and opinions in the wake of the targeted death of Soleimani. However, very few actually have specific expertise in the areas being discussed. It’s all too easy to be swept back and forth and side to side by the the tide and backwash of public opinion.
Many, like myself, have more questions than anything. We know the situation is bad but we don’t really know how bad it is or in what way it is bad. So when I stumbled upon an expert in the field, I had just enough sense and energy left to take a breath and read through his tweet thread. It was not what I expected.
