Act of war: An action by one country against another with an intention to provoke a war
There seems to be confusion about this. There seems to be some reluctance towards calling things by their appropriate label.
Yes, Mr Soleimani was a bad guy. He was a killer and well known as plenty ruthless. His brutality resume is extensive.
He also hadn’t committed any acts intended to provoke war with the United States.
That provocation was done by others. Namely Donald Trump. After consulting only those who’d smile him along he pulled the trigger on what might prove the most blundering and destructive act by any president in American history.
Right on cue the cheering started. On social media, on the airwaves, and on Capitol Hill they’re just googoo eyes over the whole notion of WAR. They know what he did and many seem quite pleased with it. Many have been itching for it. Even those hesitant to admit Trump’s direct culpability are quite ready to jump into the Brave March To War. For the vast majority it isn’t them or their kids who are actually in step. It won’t be them ducking fire or getting shot or killing children.
And from what I’ve seen on social media many are literally cheering the idea. Indeed for some the notion of being one of those doing the killing and ducking fire is just fine, so long as they get to do some of the killing. Some of those are ex-military. Some are people I know.
They aren’t all bots, not be a long shot, and they show up every time.
They show up every time.
Of course that’s what this is all about, and it makes me sick.
