Thousands* of people flew in from China in the month after Trump's 'ban.'

Trump keeps talking about his China ban, but every time he does so, we let him get away with it. Well, ignoring the argument that his ‘ban’ was racist, there’s a more important point.

It wasn’t real.

The ban only stopped Chinese nationals from flying in from China.  In the weeks after Trump announced his ‘ban’, thousands of American citizens and permanent residents flew from China to the US.  None of them was quarantined. Instead they were allowed to roam the US with no restrictions and those who were sick were allowed to infect people wherever they went.

Forget about the fact that the ‘ban’ was racist.  His followers like that fact.  The more important thing was that some of the people that Trump let come in from China were sick, and Trump didn’t care.  He had his racist headlines, and he didn’t actually care about the health of Americans at home.

*I don’t have an actual number here, It may be more or less. It was certainly in the thousands, and many of those thousands were carriers of the virus.
