Woke up yesterday SO THRILLED that Louisiana’s first day of early voting was here and I could rush out and vote FOR Joe Biden and FOR Kamala Harris and FOR our Congressman Cedric Richmond and FOR our long-shot D. Senate candidate Adrian Perkins ….
and AGAINST tyranny, oppression, terminal stupidity, and Trumpism.
I decided to go to New Orleans’ brand-new polling place, the Smoothie King Center, the large arena beside the Superdome. Thanks to the city for great organization. Free parking, lots of poll workers to steer us into the right lines, lots of masks and social distance. About 50 people in line ahead of me. Our ballot is long and complicated but I was still in and out in 45 minutes.
Of the 50 people ahead of me, I counted four who I think might have been Trumpers. The rest were people of color or obvious New Orleanians. Only people from Metry like Trump.
Tell me the story of casting your vote. Where, when, weather? Did you take snacks? Did you get a sense of enthusiasm?
