coalregioncanary.com/...Pennsylvania Governor Wolf discusses Walter Wallace death
Governor Wolf struggles to find words.
Cognitive dissonance. Wolf marched with the George Floyd protestors yet he needs to find out the details of what happened under his watch before he can make a substantive comment.
THE DETAILS DON’T MATTER.
No.
You don’t get to say you are going to find out what happened as if the details were important. Details are only that incident. We all know what is going on. You should NOT say “. . . umm . . . yeah . . . let’s get the details . . ..”
You should say:
I too am outraged that black people are being unjustly killed.
I take responsibility.
I will:
- immediately take effective action to reform a violent militaristic aggressive police culture;
- work tirelessly to see that all victims of state violence are compensated, not only high profile death cases;
- stop the criminalization of annoying, foolish, buoyant, boisterous and private behavior, as well as illness, mental illness, and addiction;
- see that all people are treated with respect, given due process, and afforded equal protection under the law; and
- seek to reconcile the criminalized community and work to remove their impediments because our criminalization process has so unfairly targeted poor, minority, disabled, and disadvantaged communities while failing to protect those communities from relentless economic and environmental corporate attack and exploitation.
You do not tell us you need to get the details.
The details don’t matter.
