This week in the weekly timeline of Trump corruption, crap and bullshit we have two major incidents which have occurred. Trump went out, under the advise from Chris Christie that people who stutter lose their train of thought when interrupted, and made a colossal ass of himself on national TV with 75 million people watching by yammering incessantly over Joe Biden’s answers during their first face-to-face debate.
Also, it appears that while he was giving the unhinged debate performance he had been infected by Covid-19 and has spread it to his wife, his girlfriend Hope Hicks, several members of his staff, at least 3 White House reporters, his other girlfriend Kellyanne Conway, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Thom Tillis and Chris Christie.
The White House is in total disarray and panic over what’s going to happen with the election. Their campaign is halted as Trump has gone to Walter Reed Hospital for observation. The timeline story of how all this happened doesn’t add up. It appears that Trump was told he was Covid-19 positive 72 hours ago, which was before he decided to attend a fundraiser in New Jersey and a rally in Minnesota. He knew he had the disease and he didn’t go into isolation, he didn’t wear a mask, he just kept going about his business as normal.
Every part of this situation is entirely fracked up.
First lets hash out Trump's debate performance where he came off like a howling lunatic screaming right-wing talking points and conspiracy theories at Biden like he was channeling Alex jones on a bender.
In the first half hour of the first presidential debate of the 2020 general election, President Donald Trump hardly let former Vice President Joe Biden — or, even, moderator Chris Wallace — get a word in edgewise.
Frustrated, Biden often simply spoke while facing the camera directly, rather than Trump or Wallace.
[...]
Trump’s strategy, as it often is during contentious interviews, appeared to be simply talking over any inconvenient questions or effective attacks.
Most notably, when Wallace attempted to ask him about his attempt to eliminate Obamacare in federal court without a plan to replace it, Trump tried to smother the question entirely.
Wallace at times got Trump to follow the debate’s rules and allow Biden time to answer. But Trump appeared frustrated at not being allowed to speak unfettered.
“I guess I’m debating you, not him,” he said to Wallace, after the moderator managed to get his health care question in.
Biden was more blunt.
“Would you shut up, man?” he said at one point, before calling Trump “unpresidential.”
Trump attacked Biden’s dead son Beau. He attacked Biden’s son Hunter. He falsely claimed that Hunter was dishonorably discharged, which he wasn’t. He ranted about $3.5 million that Hunter supposedly received from the former Mayor of Moscow that he never actually received — which is extremely rich since it looks like Trump himself is in debt to someone -— maybe Russia — for $421 million.
[Andrew] Weissmann just weighed in on the New York Times bombshell report that finds, among other staggering facts, that in 2016 and 2017 President Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal taxes.
It also finds Trump paid zero in taxes for 15 out of 20 years.
And it finds that Trump is in debt, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars to an unknown entity. $421 million in debt, and the bill is coming due in the next few years.
Weissmann strongly suggests that entity is Russia.
I suspect this is only the tip of the shitberg. Trump allegedly owes $2 billion to Deutsche Bank, that long ago was reportedly guaranteed by a Russia state bank.
Deutsche Bank’s loans to Donald Trump were underwritten by Russian state-owned VTB Bank, according to the whistleblower whose collection of thousands of bank documents and internal communications have captured the recent attention of federal investigators.
Val Broeksmit acquired the emails and files of his late father, Deutsche Bank executive William S. Broeksmit, after Broeksmit tragically took his own life in 2014.
Val informed the FBI in late 2019 about his knowledge of VTB’s underwriting of Trump’s loans, information he attributed to a network of sources connected to the bank he cultivated over the past five-plus years.
The $421 million is just the part of the loan that about to come due, he actually owes much more.
This might explain, among many other things, why Trump has been spouting Russian propaganda about Covid-19 and other subjects for so long.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Russian intelligence services are using a trio of English-language websites to spread disinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, seeking to exploit a crisis that America is struggling to contain ahead of the presidential election in November, U.S. officials said Tuesday.
Two Russians who have held senior roles in Moscow’s military intelligence service known as the GRU have been identified as responsible for a disinformation effort meant to reach American and Western audiences, U.S. government officials said. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
[...]
Between late May and early July, one of the officials said, the websites singled out Tuesday published about 150 articles about the pandemic response, including coverage aimed either at propping up Russia or denigrating the U.S.
Among the headlines that caught the attention of U.S. officials were “Russia’s Counter COVID-19 Aid to America Advances Case for Détente,” which suggested that Russia had given urgent and substantial aid to the U.S. to fight the pandemic, and “Beijing Believes COVID-19 is a Biological Weapon,” which amplified statements by the Chinese.
He's retweeted Russian propaganda about Biden.
(CNN) President Donald Trump on Sunday night retweeted Russian propaganda about former Vice President Joe Biden that the US intelligence community recently announced was part of Moscow's ongoing effort to "denigrate" the Democrat ahead of November's election.
Late Sunday, Trump amplified a tweet that contained audiotapes of a 2016 conversation between Biden and then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko -- material that was released earlier this year by Andriy Derkach, a Ukrainian lawmaker named by the US intelligence community in its August 7 statement about Russia's disinformation campaign against Biden. US authorities labeled Derkach's efforts as disinformation because they are intentionally designed to spread false or misleading information about Biden.
And the false rumors about bogus mail-in voting that he’s been railing about — come from Russia.
Washington (CNN) An intelligence bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security warns that Russia is attempting to sow doubt about the integrity of the 2020 elections by amplifying false claims related to mail-in voting resulting in widespread fraud, assertions that have been repeatedly pushed by President Donald Trump, according documents obtained by CNN.
"We assess that Russia is likely to continue amplifying criticisms of vote-by-mail and shifting voting processes amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to undermine public trust in the electoral process," the bulletin,
first reported by ABC News, reads.
So Trump is a paid Russia shill. Who didn’t know?
The worst portion of Trump's performance during the debate was when he failed, again, to disavow White Supremacy and the Proud Boys.
The floor was his. He was asked to do it. And yet Donald Trump on Tuesday repeatedly failed to condemn white supremacists and other violent right wingers that support him. Instead, he pivoted and dodged.
Moderator Chris Wallace tee’d up the question for the President. And it was a softball: “Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups, and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities, as we saw in Kenosha and as we’ve seen in Portland.”
Sure, Trump began, “I’m willing to do that, but…”
“Then do it!” Joe Biden said.
But Trump didn’t: “I would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right-wing.”
Wallace pressed again, but Trump asked for specifics: “What do you want to call them? Give me a name.”
White supremacists, Wallace said.
“The Proud Boys,” Biden interjected, referring to the right-wing street gang that relishes physical confrontations.
Trump wound up, then let out a dribbler.
“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by,” he said. “But I’ll tell you what, somebody’s got to do something about antifa and the left, because this is not a right-wing problem, this is a left-wing problem.”
This inability to name White Supremacist what they are runs far deeper than just Trump. Homeland Security recently reported that the largest current domestic terrorist threat happens to be White Supremacists, but during the drafting of that report Acting DHS head Chad Wolf and Ken Cuccinelli apparently tried change the report to downplay the impact of White Supremacists and highlight the danger of “antifa.”
Chad Wolf, the acting Secretary of Homeland Security that the courts have said is illegitimate serving in the position, said that he really is concerned about white supremacist terrorism in the United States, despite claims from a former official of his.
The New York Times reported Wolf told Senators Wednesday “It’s a fabrication, completely,” that he buried threat assessments on racist extremists.
It’s a charge that came from former DHS official Elizabeth Neumann, who recently endorsed Joe Biden after leaving her position. Neumann claimed that at no time in her career did she see intelligence that indicated anti-fascist protesters were a threat to the United States or running any sort of extremist or terrorist operation. Still, Wolf and others in the Trump administration have claimed that there is a greater focus on liberal protesters and groups like Black Lives Matter while white extremist groups are being ignored.
She wasn’t the only one who has alleged Wolf ignored or tried to downplay intelligence, however. Whistleblower Brian Murphy filed an official report on Wolf ignoring threats from Russia on the 2020 election.
The Times reported that Murphy alleged Wolf told him “not to disseminate a report on a Russian disinformation campaign to denigrate Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s mental health because it ‘made the president look bad.'” Murphy said he was warned that the actions threatened “national security.”
Read the full report.
So Trump’s debate performance was more than just a slip of the lip, it’s part of a pattern. It’s part of a plan. The political wing of Trump’s administration has been deliberately twisting facts to fit their narrative that the “real danger” is Black Lives Matter and antifa. This fits Trump plan to demonize black people and immigrants in order to frighten white women in the suburbs into supporting him. It’s just not working.
President Donald Trump expressed utter bewilderment during a campaign rally in Duluth, Minnesota, on Wednesday night over the fact that his blatantly racist attempts to win over suburban women aren’t working.
Then the President complained that his fear-mongering isn’t being rewarded, as reflected in the polls showing Biden outpacing him among suburban voters.
“They talk about the suburbs, women in the suburbs. I ended a regulation that nobody would have done,” Trump said, referring to his repeal of the Obama-era Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule that required cities receiving federal housing funds to probe potential housing discrimination against protected groups.
Trump repeated his claim on Wednesday that the policy “brings public housing, low-income housing, into the suburbs.”
The President also falsely told his supporters that Biden’s housing plan would “zone you out” and “build low-income housing next to your house,” despite the fact that zoning is decided by the local, not federal, government.
Trump has also shutdown anti-racism sensitivity training within the government claiming that it’s “anti-American.”
Trump's administration moved to halt employee training at federal agencies on topics that include "white privilege" and "critical race theory" earlier this month.
"I ended it because a lot of people were complaining that they were asked to do things that were absolutely insane, that it was a radical revolution that was taking place in our military, in our schools all over the place," Trump said during the first presidential debate Tuesday night.
The president claimed racial sensitivity training taught people to "hate our country."
Training that is intended to stop racism, to stop discrimination makes people “hate our country.” Could that be because this is a racist country? Or at least the parts of it that Trump likes — the Confederate Flag, Confederate Statues, President Andrew Johnson — are all essentially racist.
And then after the debate we receive the announcement that Trump has apparently contracted the virus that is just going to “magically go away” any minute now.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said early Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus, a stunning announcement that plunges the country deeper into uncertainty just a month before the presidential election.
Trump, who has spent much of the year downplaying the threat of a virus that has killed more than 205,000 Americans, said he and Mrs. Trump were quarantining. The White House physician said the president is expected to continue carrying out his duties “without disruption” while recovering.
We know from the Woodward tapes that Trump knew how dangerous and deadly this virus was back in January and February. He knew. He knew and he deliberately tried to downplay it, just like he downplays White Supremacy, in order to “prevent a panic.”
And now the people in abject panic, are in the White House.
“The amount of sheer panic that is going on within the West Wing, within the President’s campaign cannot be understated,” he continued.
The sheer amount of cosmic karma that is coming tumbling down on the heads of Trump and his pack of rabid hyenas he calls “staff” is monstrous. It’s likely that he contracted it at the Rose Garden nomination announcement for Amy Coney Barrett which was an outdoor non-spread mask optional event which involved over 150 people.
This is just level one, the first part of the outbreak, because many of those people at that event have been running around unaware that their infectious for the past 7 days, so in another 4-5 days we’re going to hit the second wave of cases from the White House and apparently the Senate.
It’s crazy, it’s nuts, it’s mostly surprising that it took this long to happen with the cavalier manner that Trump and his people have been ignoring the CDC guidance.
Just yesterday HHS Secretary Alex Azar tried to claim that Trump and his family are “special” and don't need to follow CDC protocols.
Democratic lawmakers were incredulous after Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar on Friday testified following President Donald Trump’s Covid-19 diagnosis that the Trump family can’t be expected to take the precautions that public health experts recommend, while also claiming the spread of the coronavirus to more than 7.3 million Americans is a matter of “individual responsibility.”
Testifying before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis as Trump reportedly began developing Covid-19 symptoms, Azar told Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-N.Y.) that the president’s family did not wear masks at the first presidential debate last Tuesday because “the first family and the protective aspect around the president is a different situation than the rest of us.”
At the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, a doctor was reportedly shooed away from the president’s adult children when she approached them to ask them to wear face coverings during the debate.
What happens when the virus gets inside “the bubble?” It spreads in the bubble. It’s likely that Jared, Ivanka, Uda and Kusay have been exposed as well. Their own ignorance and arrogance has brought this down upon their heads. And remember Trump was diagnosed on Wednesday morning, and yet he went to the indoor fundraiser in New Jersey without a mask, and then his rally in Minnesota potentially infecting dozens more people after he knew.
It’s just delicious.
And then there’s the fact that Trump is 74, he’s overweight, and he has a heart condition. He’s got a 50/50 shot of kicking the bucket and hello “President Pence.”
But I for one hope that doesn’t happen. I hope he lives even though he frankly doesn’t deserve it. He’s got an election to lose and criminal tax fraud charges to face. Things to do, places to be.
