Donald Trump has put the nation through absolute hell for the last six months, so it is particularly enjoyable when somebody is able to successfully poke back at him. Among the most effective Trumpbaiters this election season has been the Lincoln Project, and they are at it again.
Last week, the Lincoln Project posted a large unflattering billboard of Jarvanka in Times Square. Jarvanka attempted to strike back. Big mistake. The Lincoln Project has now doubled down in a hilarious escalation of its catfight with the cluelessly entitled couple.
To recap, as described by the New York Times:
“On Thursday morning, the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump group made up mostly of Republicans, posted that image of Ms. Trump on a billboard in Times Square, with statistics about Covid deaths substituting for the beans.
Ms. Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser, beams from the adjacent billboard alongside body bags and a quote, attributed to him in a Vanity Fair article, stating that New Yorkers will suffer during the pandemic, and “that’s their problem.”

One would have reasonably expected Jared and Ivanka, the cheap publicity seekers they are, to love having free photos of themselves plastered over Times Square. However, for some reason they seemed to take offense to this particular billboard and unleashed Trump TV lawyer Marc Kasowitz on the Lincoln Project. Kasowitz wrote a heavy handed letter demanding that the “malicious and defamatory” billboards be taken down. If the billboards stay up, Kasowitz threatened, “we will sue you for what will doubtless be enormous compensatory and punitive damages.”

Sensing that they struck a nerve, the Lincoln Project gave Kasowitz a one word response: “Nuts” (mimicking American WWII General McAuliffe’s one-word reply to a German surrender ultimatum) followed by a more detailed statement explaining why “the billboards will stay up.”
That statement described Javanka as “entitled, out-of-touch bullies who have never given the slightest indication they have any regard for the American people.” It further stated that, “While we truly enjoy living rent free in their heads, their empty threats will not be taken any more seriously than we take Ivanka and Jared.”
That public statement was followed by a letter to Kasowitz. That letter, embedded in the tweet below, is even more contempuous:
The Lincoln Club’s tweet sharing that letter ended with:” This will not be the last they hear from us”.
True to the spirit of Honest Abe, the Lincoln Club kept its word. It has now doubled down, expanding its psy-ops campaign from Jarvanka’s heads to the twin nerve centers of the Trump Crime family: Mar-A-Lago and Trump Tower. First, it plastered a huge version of the billboard on a boat and hired it to troll slowly back and forth across the ocean in front of Mara-Lago all weekend long. Then, it employed a sign truck with the same billboard to circle Trump Tower, which it will do from now until the election. Here’s what Ron Steslow of the Lincoln Project had to say about their latest caper:
Per floridapolitcs.com,
Billboards blasting Ivanka Trump and her spouse, Jared Kushner, are outside Mar-A-Lago and Trump Tower all weekend. . .
The Mar-A-Lago installation is on a boat, outside the Trump South Florida compound through Sunday afternoon before sailing back to Miami. The so-called “Javanka” artwork from there will be on boats in the Miami area through the election.
The Mar-A-Lago boat will be out 24/7 for most of the weekend, but the Trump Tower installation will have shifts for the next four days. A digital truck was outside the building on Friday….
Florida Politics talked to Ron Steslow of the Lincoln Project, who described the move as one in a series of “psy ops” style attacks on the vanity of the President and his family. The locations are designed so Trump’s “friends and family” can see them, including New York residents who may be wintering in South Florida.”

So what’s next? Who knows, but it should be interesting. Steslow’s most recent tweet simply says: “We are just getting started.” So, sit back, relax, and have plenty of popcorn by your side. Its going to be a long four days until the election is over.
