Sir Sean Connery (25 August 1930 – 31 October 2020) has died at the age of 90. Sir Sean Connery died peacefully in his sleep, as his home in the Bahamas. His son said that he had been "unwell for some time".
The Scottish actor was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, but his versatility was showcased in many films over a 50+ year career.

He was the first actor to portray James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983.
He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards, and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. He received a lifetime achievement award in the US with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama.
Connery retired after receiving the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award on 8 June 2006.

- He was born in Edinburgh in a family with very modest means; his mother was a cleaning woman, his dad was a factory worker and lorry driver.
- Connery's first job was as a milkman.

- Connery was later discharged from the navy age 19 on medical grounds because of a duodenal ulcer, a condition that affected most of the males in previous generations of his family.

I, for one, have watched his films many many times. From the Bond files to Murder on the Orient Express, The Man Who Would Be King, Highlander, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Untouchables, The Hunt for Red October and Dragonheart, every movie was a classic.
