Patricia and Mark McCloskey gained national fame after they stood outside their tacky suburban St. Louis McMansion and pointed guns at Black Lives Matter protesters who marched down their street. Instead of earning the scorn of conservatives, they were hailed and even given a platform in a primetime speaking role at the Republican National Convention. A true low point for a party still searching for the bottom.
Tuesday a grand jury indicted the pair on charges of exhibiting guns at protesters and evidence tampering. The pair allegedly tampered with the gun Patricia McCloskey pointed at protesters to make it inoperable before turning it over to police.
Outside the courthouse, Mark McCloskey maintained the couple viewed themselves as the real victims, saying "Every single human being who was in front of my house was a criminal trespasser. They broke down our gate. They trespassed on our property. Not a single one of those people is charged with anything. We're charged with felonies that could cost four years of our lives and our law licenses."
What are you doing this weekend? We need you on the phones for Swing State Saturday, helping voters in NEVADA request an absentee ballot. This is effective phonebanking where you walk voters through the process of getting ballots in their hands, and can be very rewarding.
