By now, you’ve probably seen a few diaries about volunteering to get out the vote. I know reaching out to voters might seem intimidating or time-consuming—but I also know how it feels to wake up the day after an election wishing you’d done more.
You need to know that you still have time to make a difference in this election. Our friends at Vote Forward have made it simple, easy, and fun to get involved with a get-out-the-vote activity that even introverts and people with packed schedules (I’m both!) can get behind: writing letters to infrequent, but strongly Democratic, voters in swing states.
You only need to do four things to write letters with Vote Forward: sign up to get approved, print out your batch, write your letters, and put them in the mail on October 17.

Our incredible Daily Kos community has already “adopted” nearly 2 million voters this election cycle alone, contributing to Vote Forward’s overall goal of sending 15 million letters to swing state voters.
I adopted my first batch of voters just a few days ago for a virtual letter writing party and wrote to twenty swing state voters in Texas. Before the October 17 deadline, I’m planning on adopting more voters in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and I hope you’ll join me.
Personalized letters to voters have a tangible impact. In fact, studies have shown that “please vote” letters increase turnout by 1-3%. In swing states, that can make all the difference.
Can we count on you to write letters with Vote Forward this week and help us meet our goal of reaching 15 million voters?

Whether you choose to write letters with Vote Forward or join one of the many GOTV activities Daily Kos is working to promote, we so appreciate everything you do. Thank you.
