Certain deficiencies on the envelops of otherwise valid absentee ballots can be cured and Nov 12 is the deadline.
There are close races in NC that can be flipped to to the more progressive candidate by this effort, in particular the NC Supreme Court Chief Justice race with less than a 2,620 vote margin in this state-wide race. The progressive Democrat Cheri Beasley is behind the Republican in the Chief Justice race.
Average cure rates of curable ballots run only about 50%. Activist can contact voters with ballots that need curing and increase the cure rate. Sometimes voters are not contacted by the county board, overlook the message, or need information/motivation to take action to cure their ballot.
