Our judiciary is having none of this nonsense.
U.S. District Judge Steven D. Grimberg, a Trump appointee, didn’t mince words today when he dismissed a lawsuit brought by Attorney L. Lin Wood seeking to delay certification of the presidential election in Georgia.
The State of Georgia is set to certify the election Friday.
As I was following the hearing on Adam Klasfield’s (Law and Crime reporter) live Twitter feed, it became apparent fairly quickly that Judge Grimberg would dismiss the case for lack of standing, but he went much further than that. His ruling is a victory not just for Biden and the people of Georgia, but for democracy and the sanctity of elections. Via Klasfield’s feed, here are a few highlights...
You just know that “Transactional” Trump is fuming that none of his appointed judges have honored their end of the assumed Quid Pro Quo to rescue him from the humiliating landslide loss to Joe Biden. He must be especially irate that SCOTUS hasn’t helped yet. Remember Trumper Harmeet Dhillon said this in a Fox News interview November 6th:
We’re waiting for the United States Supreme Court, which — of which the president has nominated three justices, to step in and do something. And hopefully Amy Coney Barrett will come through.
Hooray for the independence of the judiciary, and thank you to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, conservative Republican whose family has received death threats, for defending his state’s election integrity.
