CNN reports that Georgia has completed its hand recount. The state confirmed Biden’s victory. Georgia’s 16 electoral votes will go to the Biden-Harris ticket.
From the CNN story:
Georgia has finished its statewide audit of the razor-thin presidential race and President-elect Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump, according to a news release from the Secretary of State's office.
Biden beat Trump by 12,284 votes, according to the final results from the audit. This is a slight drop for Biden compared to the pre-audit results.
Officials have said repeatedly that the audit confirmed there was no widespread fraud or irregularities in the election.
State law requires Georgia to certify its votes tomorrow.
The victory in Georgia is the sweetest of all, giving the Democratic Party great hope for the future. Stacey Abrams and her organizing skills, tirelessly employed, are and should be widely credited for this victory.
A special run-off for two United States Senate seats in Georgia will determine control of the Senate, a matter crucial to whether Biden’s national victory, which already stopped a threat to American democracy, will also be an opportunity for great legislative progress.
