At yesterday’s news conference, Trump’s lawyers declared that they have overwhelming evidence of fraud that they were unable to disclose because showing evidence is not how the legal process works. Rudy Giuliania assured us, though, that he has the ability to smell fraud. That doesn’t pass the laugh test let alone the smell test, but here’s something that does pass the laugh test. In that it’s so f**king funny as to be laughable:
President Donald Trump’s lawyers have seemingly confused Michigan with Minnesota in an affidavit attempting to prove 2020 election fraud.
In their effort to demonstrate voter irregularities in the state of Michigan — which Trump was projected to have lost to Joe Biden — Trump’s lawyers appeared to mistake Michigan’s abbreviation “MI” for Minnesota.
I’m tempted to say that you can’t make this up, but you probably could if you were a comedy writer working on a screenplay for a Pink Panther-style comedy about bumbling lawyers. This is what happens when you’re so corrupt and have such a flimsy case that no reputable attorney wants anything to do with you.
John Hinderaker, a principal of Powerline Blog, a right-wing website, and a conservative "think" tank, commented:
“This is a catastrophic error, the kind of thing that causes a legal position to crash and burn”
The article doesn’t name names, but this is totally on-brand for Rudy Colludy. If I were on trial for murder, and Rudy were assigned as my public defender, I would sooner hire a law school reject to represent me.
