Over the next few months I will be indexing the last several years of WFD recipes, which I hope will make our archives more useful. People have diaried hundreds of great recipes but it isn’t easy to search through the list for something you might want to cook.
Several years ago yojimbo attempted an index of the first few years, which unfortunately isn’t in a very useful format. My index will start where his stopped, at the beginning of 2014. Because of site changes, the older the diary, the less likely it is to still have its pictures intact.
Part 1 of the index is recipes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
A lot of people don’t want any new recipe ideas for Thanksgiving, they want exactly what they always have. The friend I’ll be eating with is like that, she wants the turkey and stuffing and gravy and cranberries all done her way, and pumpkin pie for dessert. It was all I could do to get her to agree to green beans with herbs and butter instead of the goopy mushroom soup casserole. We’ve done Thanksgiving together a number of times, so I know that her way is great, but I’m personally not so averse to innovating. I haven’t made pie in a long time and I’ll be trying the recipe below.
Many of us this year are probably having Thanksgiving with a smaller group than usual so TX Scotia’s “Small Thanksgiving” WFD with roast chicken not turkey is very appropriate.
pixxer’s pie diary has very detailed instructions on how to make pie crust.

I’m cooking chicken tikka masala. What’s for dinner at your place?
