It’s finally time to say “goodbye” to Donald John Trump.
Again I know I’m counting chickens early but I think he’s going down. I’ll put that on record and suffer being embarrassed about it later. I believe that before we have to get to counting mail-in ballots that Joe Biden will have already crossed the 270 threshold by holding most of the rustbelt states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and perhaps picking up one or two of the toss-up states like Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Texas or Arizona.
Last time Trump barely eeked out a win with a balance or 70,000 votes stretched across three states, with Jill Stein splitting the Clinton vote and the Bernout holdovers standing on the sidelines. That’s not likely to happen again.
If somewhere like Pennsylvania remains undeclared at midnight due to the large set of mail-in ballots that still need to be counted, Biden will already be in the winners circle. It’s not going to be the case that one state declares for Trump when he only has a small enough margin to be overcome by the mail-in backlog.
Nobody is going to do that, because that’s exceedingly dumb.
However, that’s exactly what Drumphf is vainly hoping for.
Many businesses are closing up shop and boarding up their windows in the expectation of civil unrest if Trump wins. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Trump may try to “steal” the election or possibly declare victory before the night is over — but he’s not going to honestly “win.”
First off let dispense with this nonsense, specifically Kayleigh McEnany claiming that Trump will win in a “landslide” thanks to the “black vote.”
Fox News host Sandra Smith pointed out to McEnany that Trump has sought to undermine the counting of votes after election day in Pennsylvania. Experts have said that it could take up to three days to determine a winner in the commonwealth.
“Ballots should only be counted as they arrive on election day,” the press secretary opined. “And what the court did in Pennsylvania is say, ‘No, no, no, we can count ballots that arrive up to three days after election day.’ That’s not how it works.”
“But that’s nothing new,” Smith interrupted.
“We believe the court is wrong,” McEnany said.
But she predicted that President Donald Trump’s campaign would not need to take the election fight to the U.S. Supreme Court.
“We don’t think it will come to that because I’m predicting now, we win Nevada, we win Minnesota, I do believe President Trump has a landslide and this talk of litigation is nothing,” McEnany opined.
“That is indicative of what’s going to happen,” she remarked. “A Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan victory, ending in Nevada won. And I’m telling you now, the story of this election is this: The Latino vote came to President Trump, the Black vote came to President Trump in numbers that we have not seen.”
What I got to say to that is “Bwahh hahahhahaaa….hawww..”
Then you had Jason Miller claiming that Trump will win the vote on election day only to have Dems “steal it” by…. “counting votes.”
“If you speak with many smart Democrats, they believe that President Trump will be ahead on election night, probably getting 280 electoral [votes],” Miller told ABC News host George Stephanopoulos. “And then they’re going to try to steal it back after the election.”
“We believe that we will be over 290 electoral votes on election night,” he added. “So no matter what they try to do, what kind of hijinks or lawsuits or whatever kind of nonsense they try to pull off, we’re still going to have enough electoral votes to get President Trump reelected.”
Uh, no, you’re not. If Trump loses Pennsylvania — which he might — he’s out. He’s done. On the other hand Biden could lose Pennsylvania, and Florida and Georgia and still potentially win because he has so many other options on the table.
If Republicans weren’t worried they would be trying to block mail-in ballots from being counted. When Trump “won” in 2016 it took days to determine the final results in Arizona which went for Trump. Don’t try to change the rules of the game now. If they didn't think they were likely to lose, they wouldn’t have tried to block 127,000 votes which were placed at drive-thru centers in Houston Texas.
For 18 days of early voting, Harris County residents waited in line, had their identities verified by poll workers, and cast their votes in a presidential election that has seen record-breaking early turnout.
But for the nearly 127,000 people who did so at drive-thru polling places instead of in traditional indoor sites, many are now watching with fear as a wealthy conservative activist, a Republican state representative and two GOP candidates aim to throw out their ballots at the last minute. In the state’s most populous — and largely Democratic — county, drive-thru voters are left anxiously awaiting court decisions before Election Day on Tuesday that could force them to go back to the polls. Likely many more are unaware of their votes’ potential demise.
The Republican legal effort could jeopardize 10% of the in-person early votes that were cast at 10 drive-thru polling places throughout the county — a vote count higher than the entire early vote total in Nueces County, home of Corpus Christi and the state’s 16th most populous county.
Fortunately a Federal Judge blocked the blockers, but people who have confidence in their position don't try to pull bullshit like this.
Add to that delusion this segment with Corey Lewendowski getting slapped down by Chris Wallace over the Covid death count.
“What is the president’s evidence that doctors, many of whom are risking their lives treating these patients, are in fact lining their pockets by inflating the number of COVID deaths?” Wallace asked.
“You know, Chris, I haven’t seen that evidence,” Lewandowski admitted. “But we have seen on multiple occasions people who claimed they have died from COVID-19 and that wasn’t the case.”
Wallace pointed to “a number of studies that the number of people that are actually dying from COVID is greatly undercounted.”
“Does the president stand by his accusation that doctors are profiteering off this virus?” Wallace wondered.
“You know, Chris, I haven’t spoken to the president about this directly so I couldn’t answer that,” Lewandowski replied.
Wow, look at that. Actual journalism. At least 230,000 Americans have died as a result of being infected with Covid, and yes, that’s probably an undercount.
And then you had Mercedes Schlapp peddling the same crap until she got slapped down.
In an interview with Schlapp on Monday, Fox News host Harris Faulkner noted that the country had recently logged over 99,000 new cases of COVID-19 in one day.
“The highest number of single day infections of any other nation,” Faulkner pointed out. “Dr. Fauci, though, very respected figure and I’m wondering, especially for some of the swing voters — so they say — who is the president trying to reach with the message that he will fire Fauci?”
“Well, I think that Fauci’s comments this past weekend were disappointing,” Schlapp replied. “I mean, he played politics. And when you’re a career employee and you’re there to serve the American people, you want to stay out of the politics. You’re there to provide medical advice as opposed to take a political side.”
Schlapp argued that Fauci was only one of Trump’s medical advisers.
“Joe Biden, on the other hand, he’s plagiarizing our plan,” she insisted. “He doesn’t have a plan of his own. He just wants to make sure that we all wear a mask — and put a national mask mandate, lock down this country, which we know we cannot afford. We need to reopen our schools, reopen our economy safely and responsibly and get Americans back to work.”
Faulkner, however, did not seem convinced.
“Yeah, you know, the president is still the president right now,” the Fox News host observed. “And as we lead the world in a place where we never thought we’d be in terms of cases. Even [Coronavirus Task Force member Admiral Brett Giroir] — handpicked by the president of the United States — says it’s not because we’re over-testing.”
Notice that three of these morons got smashed by facts while appearing on Fox News, and yet Jason Miller gets to talk his BS unopposed on ABC. Go figure.
I’m looking forward to seeing an end to this crap. I’m tired of Donald Trump being on my teevee. I’m sick of Don Jr. I’m sick of Ivanka and Jared. Lewandowski, McEnany, Jason Miller, Stephen Miller, Mercedes Schlapp and her idiot husband, Giuliani the whole lot of them.
It’s time to kick them the fuck out.
I know of course, that they won’t go away. They’ll still show up on Fux Snews, Breitbart and OAN to grumble and spread their “Hunter Biden once stole a cookie” nonsense. But they won’t be in control of the country anymore. They’ll be no more of their grifting, corruption and graft. No more of their vicious immigrant hate. No more of the despicable racism. No more of their faux macho maskless nose-thumbing at the deadliest viral outbreak in over a century which a Stanford study indicates Trump rallies are responsible for 30,000 infections and 700 deaths.
And unless he vamooses from the country — Trump will be up on criminal tax fraud charges from the NY Attorney General and NY District Attorney from which he can’t “pre-pardon” himself.
Things are going to get better, starting today. We just have to survive the attacks by various white nationalist groups who are going to lose their shit and violently freak out when he loses.
If it doesn’t, I don’t what horrible fate(s) await this nation.
