UPDATE RIGHT AFTER POSTING: I am NOT a Republican! My post is regarding a GOP single mom voting Dem. But I am proud of my pearls.
I showed up at 5:45am at my polling place with Missouri opening at 6am. I was done by 7:15am. Now I’m perusing the local rag, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and I run across this heartening (yet sad) article.
“I feel uneasy because I’m a Republican voting Democrat,”

Voting in a red state since 1991 when I moved here, hoping that GOPPER Anne Wagner finally gets tossed out by a suburban blue wave.
FYI, I wore my pearls.
UPDATE 2 (I’m really bad at this). Moving the relevant section of the article up from the comments:
St. Louis, 2 p.m.: Bianca Moore brought her 5-year-old son with her to the Central Library downtown to vote. She said she had only made the decision Tuesday morning to cast a ballot.
“I feel uneasy because I’m a Republican voting Democrat,” she said. “I’m a single mom with no job, and I’m going against my traditional standards. I don’t agree with what Democrats are pushing for, but I’m hoping it’ll help in the long run.”
Moore said she lost her job due to the COVID-19 pandemic and needs to stay home to care for her son, who has special needs.
“Maybe (Democrats) will come through and give some assistance because my party didn’t,” she said. “This year is not what I thought it would be. I’m scared for what will happen after the election.”
