Five years ago I retired to Cochise County, Arizona from Wisconsin. At the time Wisconsin was traditionally Blue State and Arizona was traditionally a Red State. Moving to Arizona I thought my vote would be a waste of time. I continued to vote, I have not missed an election since I turned 18 back in 1975.
I knew in 2016 Arizona would go for Trump, but I was completely shocked when my home state of Wisconsin went for Trump in 2016. As were many of us, I was devastated.
Then in 2018 I voted for Sinema for Arizona Senator, expecting her to lose to McSally. I woke up the following day with McSally having what looked like an insurmountable lead. But then the unexpected happened, day by day McSallys lead shrunk. It took SIX days to call the race and finally the following Monday Sinema was declared the winner. And we know what happened next, Senator Kyle resigned a month after the election. Republican Governor Ducey appointed the loser McSally to the Senate.
I knew in 2020 that Arizona had a chance to defeat McSally with Mark Kelley. Arizona hated McSally so much that at the moment she is about 20,000 votes LESS than what Trump took. Trump has 1.318 million votes to McSallys 1.3 million votes.
Which brings us to Biden and Trump. The Associated Press has called the race for Biden with him leading by just under 90,000 votes.
Biden and Kelly and ARIZONA TURNING BLUE. Without Arizona Biden may not win. With Arizona it looks like a slim but convincing victory! Both my states of Wisconsin and Arizona came through, I am so proud.
