Bill Barr reportedly said, according to CNN’s Jaimie Gangel - “none of this matters— it’s the deposed King ranting. Irrelevant to the course of justice and to Trump’s election loss.”
What’s going on? We know Bill Barr will resign or be fired soon. trump has been fuming at Barr and had another raging meltdown this morning, where he hinted that he will soon fire Barr and “declassify everything.”
For the past 2 years, Barr has sycophantly served and protected trump. Is this his parting shot at trump? Is this 2 years of pent-up frustration for being humiliated by lowly trump? Did he develop a conscience or perhaps some terminal disease? What’s in it for Barr?
Just last year, he fatalistically said — “Everyone dies and I am not, you know, I don't believe in the Homeric idea that you know, immortality comes by, you know, having odes sung about you over the centuries, you know?” as a pathetic way to defend the shredding of his reputation in the service of trump. So, is he concerned about his reputation now or does have some Machiavellian scheme in mind?
Or is he just reflecting the sentiment of the republican establishment? Is the republican party about to ditch trump? What is their long game?
Will this widen the growing schism between the GOP and trump supporters? Let’s hope so.
