Welcome to another edition of Woozle Wednesday
Hello Peeps, welcome to our little corner of Woozleville at the PWB Peeps [that’s Pooties (cats), Woozles (dogs), Birdeez (duh), and us Peeps of course].
Yes, it’s Woozle Wednesday, that day of the week when the PWBP Pooties take the day off and the pooches come to the rescue and politely take up the slack — well, those that are trained not to pull on their leashes. Don’t worry, pootie lovers, the kitties insist on making an appearance even though it is supposed to be their day off. They just can’t help putting in their two meows worth. Other critters like birdeez, small pets, farm animals, and sometimes wild creatures, will also make appearances from time to time.
Holiday Bustle
All across Woozleville, the pooches have been busy making final preparations for the Christmas holidays. Trees have been trimmed and doghouses decorated. There has been a frenzy of last-minute gift buying at the local shops. Presents are being wrapped and bedecked with bows. The firewood is all chopped and stacked to keep Woozlevillagers warm by the fireplace. And of course, stockings have been hung by the chimney or bedstead with care.
Friends and neighbors have been making visits to exchange their gifts. Everyone has been out and about, greeting each other. Groups of carollers have strolled through the town on many nights. Kids are having a fun time playing in the snow, just waiting for the big night to arrive. It’s almost here — Christmas Eve is tomorrow. But can the puppies and kittens wait that long?
Ye Olde Woozleville Christmas
By now visitors to Woozleville (that means you, Peeps) all know that the villagers love community events. Indoor events and outdoor events. Anything that brings the town together for a festival or show or whatever takes their fancy. Anything fun and entertaining and interesting.
A few weeks ago, Mr Stubb’s history class put on an exhibition of vintage sports and fun in the snow. It was a big hit. So, to help the citizens of Woozleville pass the time until The Big Day, Mrs McCollie decided to expand the exhibition at the Woozleville Historical Society. She has put together a display of vintage cards and illustrations featuring holiday traditions from Woozleville past. To augment the exhibit, the Village Festival Committee has added some Victorian events to the annual celebration, including an appearance by Father Christmas and strolling Carollers on the Village Green.
The exhibition of vintage cards and illustrations opens tonight! But first, before those of us who have spent the day at the Community Rink sling our skates over our shoulders and head out to the Woozleville Historical Society below the fold, we must pause for a brief word from our sponsor and the rulz:
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: snakes and creepy crawlies (some folks have phobias). Any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
- Community Links are always welcome here.
PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern. We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us! Be kind to one another, we’re all in this together.
Now, on to the blog!
OK, Woozlevillagers and guests, let’s get together below the fold.
