In the Georgia runoffs, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are running on the joint slogan of “Health. Jobs. Justice.”:
Cannabis legalization is right at the intersection of health, jobs and justice:
- Legalization means regulation, and regulated products with quality assruance, transparent THC content and more will make use healthier.
- Legalization will create jobs, directly in production and retail, but also indirectly tourism, banking, construction and more.
- Legalization will eliminate nearly all convictions related to marijuana use, which needlessly fill up prisons. It will also eliminate the massive racist discrepancy in enforcement, as Black people are about 4 times as likely to be arrested for marijuana possession as Whites, also usage is quite similar.
The Ossoff campaign chose Christmas Eve to put the topic front and center. And because they are very good, they did this with a tweet at 4:20 AM:
Cannabis legalization and much more is on the line in Georgia. If you can, please chip in a few bucks for Jon Ossoff, Raphael Warnock and some of their key allies in Georgia via ActBlue!
