Josh Hawley’s latest sycophantic tRump-kissing move to contest the Electoral College vote is made all the more hypocritical when you consider that 1) he was an AG in Missouri, in charge of respecting and enforcing the laws of a state and b) he built his first run for office by lambasting those who use one office to run for another office.
Ironically, only a few months after being elected AG of my state of Missouri, he announced his run for U.S. Senate against Claire McCaskill, who I did everything to support (including running downballot as a state house rep, knowing I would likely lose but trying to increase Democratic turnout in a very red district to help her statewide). You can understand my anger at his hypocrisy.
And here were are, not two years into his term as Senator, and he is clearly positioning himself to run for president in 2024, to pick up the Trump voters and a Trump endorsement whenever DJT chooses to or is forced to stop conning people into contributing running for President in 2024. His willingness to disenfranchise millions of voters is appalling for a U.S. Senator and former AG.
His campaign ad for Missouri Attorney General is one of those little pieces of gold that makes me glad we have the internet to preserve memories of how two-faced politicians like him are:
