If I were going to decorate for Christmas, today would be the day I’d do it. I have decided against for 2020.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Monday: last day of November — only another couple of years to go in 2020.
The grounds crew for the complex I live in was here Monday. They were cutting limbs off the old gum trees in the courtyard areas (I found that out when I went to see what the thumping on my roof was about). Also blowing leaves off the complex sidewalks, and the parking lots. I eventually put my earmuffs on to cut down on the noise and decided to wait till Tuesday to do my couple loads of laundry. Ended up doing laundry on Friday.
Several weeks back, I bought some pie pumpkins, and eventually cooked them. This past weekend, I took out my electric food chopper and pureed them. I made a double batch of pie filling (didn’t bother with the crust) and baked it in my 13x9 pan. Is good stuff. Breakfast on Monday was some of it, along with chopped chestnuts and candied ginger — very nice. I still have about enough pumpkin for an actual pie — it’s in the freezer till I decide I want to make one.
My suspicions as to who has been helping my daughter with the kid jokes taped to the back door turn out to be true. Apparently, it’s getting difficult to find new ones.
The tree that lost several large limbs to the last big windstorm we had has been removed. I wonder how long it will take them to get rid of the stump.
I need to rework what I’m doing for exercise. The morning walks are still on, but the rest of it is getting pretty boring. This past Wednesday, I decided to take a bit of a nostalgia trip and walked down to my grandson’s school — the route I took was just under a mile and a half round trip. They are doing daycare in the auditorium, possibly the gym as well. Hardly a surprise, but all things considered, I do hope they’re taking adequate precautions.
The Thursday Boot Company boots I bought a couple months back are finally starting to fit without rubbing the wrong places.
I got a letter from the rental company this past week. Apparently, they are having trouble with tenants authorized for one car in the lot parking two. Not something that affects me, but okay.
Somebody tried to buy something on Facebook using my credit card. Now it’s been canceled and I have to wait on getting a new one. AAARRGGH!!!

My computer is having occasional fits. The mouse wasn’t working, so I posted this from my daughter’s computer — she gave me a bluetooth mouse that she had to spare and it worked!

Love you guys!
