This will be short and sweet. If the DNC wants to change the rules to make “money” immaterial and “polling” all that matters, I call for those who have withdrawn to rejoin and demand previous polls count in the debate process.
This change was not announced when they could have taken advantage. They may have waited and as others dropped out they may have made it in polling even more often.
I dare the DNC to not let them into the debate if they rejoin the race. It is time to expose the party apparatchiks for what they are. This is not them cheating Bernie, this is them cheating the Black, Brown and Women who ran for president this cycle.
Run again, Kamala. Run again, Corey. Run again Julian. Beto, and others are welcome too, but those three were absolutely SCREWED by this decision.
Let’s show them what we think of their whites only primary.
Update:
I am being told “it doesn’t work that way”. Ok, that’s also my point. We don’t know how it works. The candidates who ran in this race thought they knew the rules. I think it is entirely possible that these candidates may have stayed in if they knew the fundraising requirements would expire for the 10th debate. Knowing that others may quit, they could project that they might reach the polling requirements. It would potentially have changed strategies. Significantly. To call it sour grapes is to not understand strategy and tactics at all. In particular, I think Kamala Harris could make a big deal of this, restart her campaign (it is merely suspended now, not shut down) and get polling up above Bloomberg. I think it s entirely possilbe. Not likely, but possible. I would love to see the DNC eat their words trying to say she can’t debate if she missed by one or two points.
Pathetic. Don’t get behind this DNC move, Democrats, big D, it makes us look as anti-democratic (little d) as Trump’s legal team. Not a good look.
Update TWO:
Kamala polled above 10% early on. The people are there to support her if she did this. Would they for sure? No. Should she call the bluff of the DNC? I would give her $500 myself if she did it.
