Elsewhere the news stories on the new Quinnipiac poll is that Bernie has now gained the national lead in the race to be the Democratic Party nominee. What hasn’t been as widely reported, but, is, perhaps, more important as voters head to the polls in New Hampshire tomorrow is this:
Quinnipiac Poll Feb 5-9:
Bloomberg beats Trump 51-42
Sanders beats Trump 51-43
Biden beats Trump 50-43
Klobuchar beats Trump 49-43
Warren beats Trump 48-44
Buttigieg beats Trump 47-43
The conventional wisdom, for too many years, has been that, in order to win the White House, Democratic candidates had to tack to the center. While Sanders does not have the widest margin against Trump (Bloomberg, or, should I say, Bloomberg’s Billions does...) he leads outside the margin and the current darling of moderates and the DNC, Buttigieg, is ahead by the smallest margin of the top 6 Democratic contenders, well within the margin..
Something to consider on New Hampshire-eve.
