Yes the two most progressive candidates have convinced me to support Mayor Pete! Both Sanders and Warren have railed against millionaires and billionaires in government so I took a look at each of the candidates net worth. Here are the figures:
1. Buttigieg: $100,000
2. Biden: $9,000,000
3. Bloomberg: $52,400,000,000
4. Gabbard: $500,000
5. Klobuchar: $1,900,000
6. Sanders: $2,500,000
7. Steyer: $1,600,000,000
8. Warren: $12,000,000
So since Mayor Pete is the poorest person running for President he must be the most honest at least according to Sanders and Warren. Oh and I always love someone with huge name recognition and multi-millions coming down on someone who is unknown and has no money for accepting large donations. It turns out that even name recognition has it’s own perks! Such as getting all those small donations from people in amounts large enough to run a Presidential Campaign. Considering all the obstacles Mayor Pete has had to overcome he is an extremely strong candidate. Will he get the nomination? No, most likely not but he has put a damn scare into Sanders and Warren! They continue to attack him for accepting corporate money and fundraisers in Wine Caves. I wonder though from the figures above who really is in those Wine Caves.
Update: Bernie Sanders has dropped ‘Millionaires’ out of his ‘Millionaires and Billionaires” stump speech. Hmmm wonder why see above! Today he was asked directly by Anderson Cooper that if Bloomberg didn’t get the nomination and came to him saying he had $500,000,000 left to spend and would give it to the Sanders Campaign would Sanders take it. The awkward silence afterward says it all and Bernie couldn’t say no! Seems the purity test may have it’s limits!
