I have certainly suffered a degree of stigma for having worked in sexually-oriented businesses and having performed in adult oriented stage shows, but women in the industry face it to a much greater degree, and I think its important to listen to women, even bosses and owners like Joanna Angel, about laws that impact them. Many of you know I have spent several years engaging the adult entertainers and other industry folk at AVN on free speech, labor and human rights issues unique to (primarily online) adult entertainment and sex work.
I have crafted and curated a mix of ten precinct caucus resolutions, including sex work decriminalization and support for the SAFE SEX Workers Study Act authored by Rep. Ro Khanna and co-sponsored by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, that I urge Minnesotans to bring to DFL precinct caucuses on Tuesday night.
Overall the collection of resolutions addresses key issues in my campaign, including rural poverty with support for SNAP and farmers, for the working class with a resolution calling for a 40 hour workweek (MN has a 48 hour workweek), the full bodily autonomy of women with regard to sex work, abortion rights and passage of the Equal Rights Amendments at state and federal level, transistion to a clean energy economy with rural jobs in solar and wind generation, and divestment from fossil fuels.
The collection of MN DFL resolutions and forms, a link to the caucusfinder are on this webpage in an S3 bucket! I have also added the links and text below:
