To say I’m despairing about the dem race at the moment would be an understatement. I’m not happy with the way things are playing out, least of which was the cluster fuck of the Iowa caucus. Now we have Joe Biden, who lets face it should never have run in the first place lobbing desperation attacks on mayor Pete just before the New Hampshire primary. Ridiculous.
In any event, I strongly had been leaning toward casting my vote for Bernie over the past three weeks or so, but a change happened after the Iowa caucus — I’ve been impressed with mayor Pete, and listening to him talk, thinking what this nation doesn’t need at the moment is two old people yelling at one another sometime in the fall if the coward in oval chooses to debate, I made the decision to vote for mayor Pete. Is he the most likely nominee at the moment, probably not — he still faces major huddles with black voters which if he doesn’t overcome will doom him. But just as in 2008 when I felt Obama could win, and felt this nation was ready for a black president, I also feel now mayor Pete can win despite the doubt that this nation will actually vote for a gay man.
We’ll see what happens going forward. But in the end casting my vote for the young mayor felt good. That’s my little story. Lets hope when this primary is over we all come together to defeat the maniac in the oval office.
