It’s time… as a progressive, it’s time to close ranks and admit Biden is our nominee. I can not lie, I am not excited and I have a lot of fears about him as a standard-bearer. Side note, I will GET excited if he chooses a good VP and starts speaking a bit less about reaching across the aisle to the GOP and more about fighting for me.
Either way, I will crawl through broken glass to vote for him while towing a cart full of voters who need a lift to the polls.
But if Joe is going to win, he is going to need all of us to come together.
I just watched James Carville on MSBC completely refuse to say that Biden needs to reach out to voters like me. Carville said over and over “the Democrats have spoken” and more than eluded that Sanders’ voters (and by association Warren’s) as progressives were not needed. The very clear message was Democrats have spoken and progressives are not Democrats.
That may not be what he meant, but that is EXACTLY what I heard. And the interviewers tried to get him to admit multiple times that Biden needs to reach out to progressives as well, they heard what I heard.
Look, I am not a wilting flower, I get how politics works. But I also think its a massive mistake to not reach out to progressives like me.
I am so angry at Carville right now I could scream and that is a clear sign of how NOT to build a coalition of voters across the left side of the spectrum.
If anyone here actually knows the man, please pass along my words for me, Carville can go F*** himself 1,000 times from Sunday.
