Received this e-mail from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D. HI) on behalf of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee:
This is Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii with an urgent request...
At 1am this morning, the House passed a coronavirus relief bill on a bipartisan basis. The president said he would sign this bill.
But inexplicably, Mitch McConnell won't reconvene the Senate until 5:30pm on Monday. We know that every day matters. Every hour matters.
Please tell Mitch McConnell: Reconvene the Senate now. Sign the petition. (If you're on Twitter, please Tweet at Mitch McConnell here.)
On the PCCC's petition page, you can tell us if you are personally impacted by the Senate's delay. The PCCC will Tweet a few stories that you share so Senate Republicans, the media, and the President see the consequence of McConnell's delay.
McConnell isn't treating this urgently. We simply must reconvene the Senate. No excuses.
Please sign the petition. And pass this to others.
Thanks for doing what's right.

Also, Democracy for America is demanding McConnell and the Senate GOP pass paid sick leave:
The United States is behind other wealthy countries in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to healthcare and workers’ rights. As concerns over coronavirus continue to worsen and the World Health Organization officially declared it a pandemic, it’s become all the more clear that the U.S. desperately needs guaranteed paid sick leave. Now.
If you’re ready to cut to the chase and take action, sign our petition to demand universal paid sick leave for all workers »
Right now, there’s no federal law guaranteeing workers paid sick days. So while medical experts urge workers across the country to stay home if they’re sick, too many people – especially those in the service industry – simply can’t if they want to keep paying the bills and putting food on the table.
That means there’s millions of people who are forcing themselves to go to work sick, or who can’t take care of their sick family members or kids whose schools are closed, because they can’t afford to lose a paycheck.
Congress should have passed guaranteed paid sick leave a long time ago, but now it’s all the more urgent. While Democrats have introduced legislation to do this, Senate Republicans just turned their backs on workers and blocked the bill yesterday.
We can’t stand for this. In the face of this economic injustice and public health crisis, we must demand Congress do their jobs and act NOW. Add your name to demand both chambers of Congress get to work and pass universal paid sick leave ASAP!
Together, we’ll get through this.
