My family is backpacking on Cumberland Island at the national seashore. Our son is graduating from high school in a couple months and this was his request. After staying last night at Stafford Beach, we will spend the morning at the beach then hike the short distance to Hickory Hill today. We will spend Tuesday night at Yankee Paradise after walking without our packs to the top of the island where the settlement with the First African Baptist Church still sits. Those souls saw some tough times.
There is a weak cell phone signal (won’t try to send pictures), and I’m only writing a few words then signing off. Among the stock market crashing despite the Fed’s exhaustion of all visible means of support under pressure from our fearless leader, the virus 🦠 spreading, and local businesses struggling through cancellations, we will keep on our simple trek around this place that has seen so much suffering and now brings so much joy.
Peace be with you my friends.
