No need for a long diary. Check out the article. We are in for a LONG ride. And it’s vital we keep distancing for months.
You’ll see why in this NYT piece from Nicholas Kristof and Stuart A Thompson. It includes modeled interactive simulation graphs where you can set the number of days of ‘stay at home’ measures and other settings to see how different measures and variables will affect infections and deaths.
In short per the simulations: 14 day ‘stay at home’ (from March 13th — 27th) will lead to 125+ MILLION infections and 2 million deaths in the U.S. by October.

Trump’s ‘Easter plan?’
31 days (March 12 — Easter Sunday) = 72 MILLION and 1.1 million deaths in the U.S. by October.
I think not.
Let’s hope numbers are lower, but remember there will also be heart attacks, car wrecks, and other patients with life threatening conditions who may not be able to be properly care for if hospitals are overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients.
