Progressives are once again the biggest losers after the sad exit of Senator Elizabeth Warren from the 2020 Presidential nomination contest.
The idea that a woman cannot win the Presidential election in this country is not true, but Democrats and especially Progressives will be haunted by the monumental mistake of not supporting Senator Warren, the most capable person to make a case against re-electing President Trump.
Let’s put that aside for a moment.
For now, it’s my sincere prayer that either Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden wins in November. But I have serious doubts because both men have significant issues that make either man unelectable. I hope I’m wrong.
Republicans have succeeded in scaring Democrats to believe that President Trump won in 2016 because of the following sets of false assumptions:
- That Mrs. Hilary Clinton lost because she’s a woman, and that was a liability.
- That nominating another woman will meet the same disaster.
- America is so racist and was the reason why President Trump won.
Here’s what I know, Progressives made a bad choice in supporting Bernie Sanders over Elizabeth Warren who could have given us nearly everything, and Bernie Sanders who will end up giving us nothing even if he manages to win the nomination which is highly unlikely.
As for Joe Biden, after being rejected a couple of times at the polls, and suddenly being propped up by my African American community, because he’s a white male who could go toe to toe with President Trump, is not a wise choice.
Regardless of what happens in eight months, ousting President Trump from office alone is not a sign of victory.
You know as well as anyone else, that they’ll become lame-duck President the moment either Mr. Biden or Mr. Sanders is sworn into office, assuming one of them manages to win, Republicans will start running against them.
Neither of the two men should have presented themselves for nomination because they’re playing into the Republican game plan.
Republicans who desperately want Joe Biden to bail them out of Trumpism will the same people who will attack him in 2021. Bernie Sanders, the self-described SOCIALIST will neither spared especially as he’ll definitely not have a Democratic Senate to grease his policies and programs into law.
Why then do these men set themselves up for failure? Who knows?
Ask Mrs. Hilary Clinton. Ask the Democratic Establishment who did everything to drag her across the finish line despite so many vulnerabilities. What would have happened to Hilary Clinton if she had taken herself out of the active nomination and instead supported Kristen Gillibrand to be President? Could she have won over candidate Trump in 2016?
Sadly, we’re repeating the same mistake in 2020.
What will Progressives lose if in 2020 Mr. Sanders as polarizing as Mrs. Clinton was in 2016, decided to skip the nomination and lined up behind Mrs. Warren?
Nothing is as intoxication as ego and hubris. It blinds men and women who see themselves as indispensable.
The same applies to Joe Biden.
I believe that both men are kingmakers, not kings. I want to be wrong, but I have my fears that Democrats will lose the 2020 election yet to President Trump.
More on this later …..
