Good morning, folks.
Let’s begin with the current state of the race for pledged delegates. Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight tweeted his most updated count yesterday, with the latest statewide data from TX and CA.
Joe Biden now leads by 81 delegates.
Biden is also steadily gaining in California.
He was down by 9% on Election Day. The lead has narrowed to 7.3%, according to CA SoS website. It could narrow even further.
Watch this impressive endorsement of Biden by Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Ghilchrist, who voted for Sanders in 2016. Gilchrist is the first black Lt. Gov. in the state’s history.
The Lt. Gov. said that Biden reached out to him and Governor Whitmer. Garlin talked about the importance of coalitions that are grounded in the strength of the black community—that this is the coalition building that will deliver Michigan and other states and that “Joe Biden is going to build it”.
Polls out of Washington state have good news for team Biden. Latest one has Biden leading by +3. A draw in this state would be a big win for Biden. It’s a state Sanders was expected and needs to win.
Missouri is either going to be close or a blowout— according to the two latest polls there. Again, this is great news for team Biden.
“This is your campaign.”
Late breaking and in another diary:
Senator Kamala Harris has endorsed Joe. #KHive
Go Joe!
