It's been a while since we last examined Donald Trump's ever-raging Twitter habits and it feels like we probably had a damn good reason for that, but let's check in anyway and see how the still-alleged President of The United States is using his massive public platform in the critical days of what experts are warning could be a nationwide healthcare crisis. Any wisdom to impart, Donald?
Oh, right. Now I remember why we stopped doing this.
To be fair, four hours earlier Trump did have a more specifically "CoronaVirus"-related tweet. It was to praise himself, offer no actual information, and yet again claim that the "Fake News Media" is trying to make him "look bad."
There is nothing of substance to go on, here. We can gather only that there's some new New York Times story that Donald Trump is pissed off about, and that being pissed off at the New York Times is, as of that moment, consuming whatever attention someone who is not at malignant narcissist might have spent on actually learning about or facilitating public response to the looming crisis. As Trump has made a habit of, he yet again is trotting out the fascist assertion that the free press is not just his enemy, but the “Enemy of the people!” for reporting things that Dear Leader objects to reporting.
But what story, specifically, gave our incompetent and delusional leader the angryfeels, waking up this morning?
Hmm. The most likely possibility is this New York Times story describing the internal debates and confused messaging of Team Trump's initial COVID-19 response. It's the sort of inside-the-administration look that Trump has repeatedly railed against as "Fake", when it contains information embarrassing to him, and it is nigh-on impossible to write a factual story from inside the Donald Trump White House that does not contain information embarrassing to him because Donald consistently screws up whatever he comes into contact with. As a malignant narcissist, Trump not only does not believe he errs but considers himself one of the great geniuses in all of history; if things are going wrong it could not possibly be because of his decisions.
But what is, specifically, the "Fake News" being portrayed in that story? Trump is not willing, or able, to clear that up. We only know that the media is making Trump "look bad" by reporting events that he does not like or that he insists is not happening. News is real if Dear Leader likes it; news is Fake if it makes Dear Leader feel bad.
Driving the point home, the only other Donald-authored thoughts of the Orange Hatepumpkin's recent feed is pushing a conspiracy theory that Democratic primary consolidation is "Rigged?" to hurt Bernie Sanders, one of Trump's newest and as-usual unsubtle and grade-school-insult-laced efforts to foment spite in the nation in whatever form might best prop up his own ambitions and ego. Everything else is the dimwit's retweets of people offering praise for, you guessed it, Donald J. Trump.
Ah yes. This was why we stopped looking at Donald's Tweet-rages. They're all the same. You could drop in on any given day and the content would always be "person I saw on my television set praised me" or "the media has reported an ANGRYTHING, they are ENEMY OF PEOPLE." The man is not just consistent, but obsessive.
We shall bow out again, then, and close that tab. Trump will not do better, no matter how important it is that he do so, because he absolutely cannot. His mental insides prevent him from viewing any world event, no matter how small or large, except in relation to how it affects his own personal stature. He does not care. He has no patience for it. The world, to him, is what he says it is, and everything else is Fake.
