I want to talk about PUTIN. The topic is coming back on heavy rotation, ready to bail out the President in time for a re-election, he hopes. I feel bad bringing this ragged on topic up again. We have enough things to worry about, but sure enough PUTIN act 2 is running overdrive.
I don't have the bandwidth to dig out from Google, all the instances PUTIN has helped Trump. Instead i'm gonna offer you choice pearls from my home-study-psychology-diploma wisdom, so that you too can prognosticate in this vein and I guarantee you will be un-popular at parties.
PUTIN is NOT “Vladimir Putin” (a most unfortunate surname coincidence). PUTIN is an acronym: Psychological Usurpation Through Identification Neuroses. Please don't laugh. (It is one of the dystopian ironies that the employers of PUTIN achieve great acclaim, even the Presidency, but those who describe PUTIN are not to be suffered. Trust me on this.)
Many members of the GOP base are religious, or believe in God somewhere in their cosmic frame of reference. Religious people routinely use God as a crutch to adapt to and navigate the discordant realities of modern daily life. The more religious they are, the more well honed is their mental reflex of striving to harmonize the dual poles of God, distant, and their daily reality, proximate, with which they struggle. More importantly, the religious find catharsis and belonging from others who struggle in similar frames (other co-religionists), they face similar problems.
It is this sense of catharsis in struggle, that PUTIN exploits. PUTIN seeks to exploit for the GOP President, regardless of his policies, the phenomena of the electorate identifying with his struggle, and finally, identifying with the President himself in entirety. To achieve PUTIN, the President must actually inject conspicuously visible, artificial, struggle, preferably with moral undertones, in what would otherwise be the smooth and routine carrying out of his policy objectives. Happily, of course, the mass news media calls struggle "content" and it looks like "democracy" to be reporting on daily struggles and skirmishes within and against government. But it's NOT content and its NOT democracy in action. It's all fake, like a husband and wife coyly arguing in front of dinner guests for fun.
The struggle itself becomes a "limited hangout", on which his supporters likely fixate and identify as their own personal struggling in combining God and their daily problems. PUTIN shows the way in alignment and identification strongly with the President as he executes policy.
Once PUTIN is understood, the extreme vaudevillian aspects of the Trump presidency become clear as PUTIN in constant operation. PUTIN is so powerful it can work with both political parties, rendering representative democracy obsolete.
In the DNC avatar, PUTIN profitably substitutes the struggle to fit God, with struggle for "progress". Same PUTIN, new politics. (Or actually, same old politics)
Furthermore, in a novel escalation, PUTIN is not only useful for rolling out pre-planned policy measures, but PUTIN also allows the President space to consider policy alternatives in real-time at leisure, and still come out on top with making up policy on the fly. Remember, it is only "the struggle" the electorate need to identify with, not the outcome! This extension of PUTIN for improvisation of policy on the fly, where the improvisation is also a struggle, is a genius extrapolation and reflects the danger Trump's grip of PUTIN poses for America, and a form of blowback for "The Deciders", as George W. Bush called them. They risk losing control of their own pre-arranged policy agenda to PUTIN itself in a sort of servant-becomes-master irony.
By laying bare PUTIN, I hope the transparency disinfects the negative influence PUTIN has and might otherwise continue to have in America, but I am not optimistic. PUTIN must be stopped, in the interests of both the Deep State, and the People.
PS. I turned in this carefully crafted term paper as my Poli Sci thesis…..I got a “C-minus” on it! It’s not fair. Maybe I should run for President?
