You want to go after the only viable contender we have? Now?
How smart are we really if we’re incapable of rallying against a common foe?
Biden was never my top choice. Not even close. But he’s now presumably the only candidate left. He’s the one who has the best chance of actually removing the orange man from power. Actually, he’s the only chance we have.
Does pointing out his flaws, running attack ads, questioning his morals, and calling him incompetent and senile, really accomplish anything worthwhile? Does it encourage participation in the election process?
Can we afford any more unqualified right-wing judges and other appointments? This is a huge part of the election. If you can’t find any other reason to vote, concentrate on this one issue. Who is more likely to bring with him qualified and reasonable people?
Does it help anyone who is not a billionaire to gift the child-in-chief another term?
Bernie has endorsed him. But still, you won’t?
Bernie Bros, your hero has asked for your help and you ignore him? (For the record, this is not in any way meant to devalue Bernie. I was a supporter until it became clear that he was no longer in the race). Apparently you still haven’t been affected enough by the train wreck going on? We are in the middle of a slow-moving coup and if we don’t come together this time around actual voting could soon end up being a thing of the past.
This is not an exaggeration
Republicans in general, and Trump in particular, are very much against making it easier to vote. Recently, in an interview regarding mail-in and absentee voting due to the coronavirus situation he let slip:
“The things they had in there were crazy,” Trump said. “They had things — levels of voting that, if you ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”
Republican election wins tend to depend heavily on various voter suppression tactics. Obviously there's not much motivation for making things easier for non-republicans to vote when they’re capable of ousting you. The obstacles are just about exclusively affecting democratic districts and tactics such as eliminating early voting and closing polling places are not uncommon. And let’s not forget about Ivanka’s voting machines. And the ease with which any of the current machines in use can be hacked.
We are headed in the direction of completely forged election wins like this one in the future. What you actually think would cease to matter. Good luck finding your perfect candidate then.
Please put your hurt feelings aside and vote, America! Vote like your life and those of your family and friends depend on it. This one counts.
